The Verstappen Crash
Verstappen lost the rear of his RB22 at the final corner on lap one after catching a patch still damp from rain roughly 50 minutes before lights out. The four-time champion, who had just signed a contract extension with Red Bull days earlier, was unhurt but his home race was over before it truly began. A Statement Drive From Lawson
Filling in for the injured Hadjar, Racing Bulls regular Liam Lawson delivered Red Bull’s only points of the weekend with seventh place, continuing a productive relationship with Zandvoort that goes back to his 2023 F1 debut at the same circuit.
Championship Fallout
Norris’s win, his second in as many races either side of the summer break, moved him firmly into the wider title conversation, while Antonelli retained the overall series lead.
