India and Afghanistan will add another chapter to their growing cricketing relationship with a three-match T20I series in September, played on Indian soil but officially hosted by Afghanistan.
Schedule and Venue
All three matches will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, with the series starting on September 13 and wrapping up on September 17. The second T20I follows on September 15, and each match is scheduled for a 7:00 PM local start.

Why This Series Matters
This is only the second bilateral T20I contest between the two sides, and it arrives at a pivotal moment for India’s T20I side under new captain Shreyas Iyer, who took over the role in June. The series doubles as final preparation before the Asian Games in Aichi, Japan, which begins just days later on September 24.
The Squads
Afghanistan will be led by Ibrahim Zadran, captaining the T20I side for the first time on a full-time basis, with the experienced Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi featuring alongside a returning Naveen-ul-Haq, back after a shoulder injury. All-rounder Gulbadin Naib also returns to the fold.
For India, the series gives the team selectors a final look at combinations before naming the Asian Games squad, having already used recent series against Ireland, England and Zimbabwe to test depth.
