Commonwealth Games 2026: Best Moments From Every Sport

A sprint clean sweep, a hat-trick gold and a first-ever national title - here is the best moment from every sport at Glasgow 2026.

Ten sports, eleven days, and no shortage of standout moments. Here is the best of each discipline from Glasgow 2026.

Swimming

Australia’s Meg Harris won six individual golds, anchoring a pool programme in which the Australians claimed 37 golds and 76 medals overall – the backbone of Australia’s runaway win of the overall medal table.

Track cycling

Wales’ Emma Finucane became the first cyclist to sweep all four sprint events at a single Commonwealth Games, setting a Games record of 46.760 seconds in the team sprint along the way.

Athletics

Australia’s Rose Davies became the first woman in Commonwealth Games history to win both the 5000m and 10,000m at the same Games. On the Indian side, Neeraj Chopra’s silver and Yash Vir Singh’s bronze produced a historic double podium in the men’s javelin.

Weightlifting

Mirabai Chanu’s third straight gold stood out, with three Games records set in a single competition in the women’s 48kg category.

Boxing

India’s seven-gold haul, detailed in full in our boxing results roundup, was the standout story of the entire Games in combat sport – the most golds any nation has won in Commonwealth Games boxing history.

Judo

Asmita Dey’s golden-point win over Canada’s Heidi Quach gave India its first-ever Commonwealth Games judo gold, part of the country’s best-ever showing in the sport.

Para sport

India’s Dilip Mahadu Gavit set a Games record in the men’s 100m T47, part of a record-breaking Games for para athletes that saw a record 141 para-sport medals awarded overall.

Bowls

Host nation Scotland enjoyed strong home support throughout the bowls competition, contributing to their fifth-place finish on the final medal table.

Together, these moments capture why even a reduced, ten-sport Commonwealth Games can still feel like a genuinely global sporting event, and why fans in India, Australia, England and beyond had plenty to celebrate across the eleven days of competition.
