Kuldeep Yadav’s 2026 has unfolded on more fronts than most cricketers manage in several seasons combined.
On the Field
Yadav was part of India’s Test squad for the Sri Lanka tour in August, one of three left-arm spin options alongside Ravindra Jadeja and uncapped debutant Manav Suthar. His wrist-spin variations continue to make him a genuine wicket-taking threat in helpful conditions, a role that has kept him a fixture in India’s Test plans throughout the current WTC cycle.
A County Stint
In July, Yadav signed a short-term deal with Yorkshire County Cricket Club to play in the One-Day Cup and three rounds of the 2026 County Championship, a rare mid-career move into English domestic cricket for an active India international.
Franchise Change
- Spent 2022 through 2026 with Delhi Capitals in the IPL
- Set to join Lucknow Super Giants from the 2027 season onward
- Married Vanshika Chadha in 2026, adding a personal milestone to a packed year
Where He Fits Now
With India carrying a deep spin-bowling pool, covered further in our Jadeja update, Yadav’s role remains primarily a red-ball and ODI one, having last played T20I cricket in February 2026. His Yorkshire stint may prove useful preparation for a heavier future workload across formats.
