Even with a smaller sports programme, Glasgow 2026 has already produced some outstanding record-breaking performances, particularly from the Indian contingent. In para athletics, Dilip Mahadu Gavit stormed to gold in the men’s 100m T47 with a Games Record time of 10.71 seconds, a performance that also set up an Indian 1-2 finish with silver medallist Mohammed Basil M — full details in our men’s athletics medal winners coverage.
In weightlifting, Rishikanta Singh set a new Games record in the snatch discipline of the men’s 60kg category on his way to a silver medal, becoming the first able-bodied Indian to reach the podium at these Games. Mirabai Chanu, meanwhile, continued her extraordinary Commonwealth Games career, becoming the first Indian weightlifter to win three consecutive Commonwealth Games gold medals in the women’s 48kg category. With athletics and weightlifting events continuing into the final days of the Games, more Games and national records are expected before the closing ceremony on 2 August. This page will be updated as new marks are confirmed.
